Our aim is to develop world-leading research within our subject area of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The research agenda places industrial firms and innovation policy within a global context, where their competitiveness is affected by how firms manage access to networks and develop flexible strategies, in relation to their future business models, products and services. A certain focus is put upon Swedish companies and the Swedish national innovation context, but set in an international context, with particular focus towards Asia.
Key research areas include developing the public-private interfaces in innovation; explaining and improving the competencies of all knowledge actors; managing outside the boundaries of the firm; developing innovation processes in multi-organizational and multi-disciplinary research centres; analyzing processes of commercialization and knowledge-based entrepreneurship; and specifying the national and regional competencies and processes required for innovation and also to react to broader shifts in society.
Our research is in its nature multi- and interdisciplinary. Researchers within the department have different backgrounds, such as engineering, , management and economics. This allows interfaces over the subject. Many specific projects are on-going, run through different financiers, including European Science Foundation, VINNOVA, European Union, Swedish Research Council, companies and foundations.
